The concept of WIFI

WIFI: the brand

From the inception, it was evident to the WIFI responsibles that education is a market and sector of economy per se. Knowingly, communication and self-conception were altered towards customer focus. Consequently, the brand WIFI was established - most of all via an uniform advertising appearance. The courses were advertised actively and the annual published WIFI course book was laid out clearly and client-friendly. By now, WIFI  has a high degree of familiarity (87 percent) and an annual turnover of 125 million Euros. About 80 locations throughout Austria ensure the WIFI clients accessibility.

WIFI goes international: the 21st century

Education and imparting of knowledge are nowadays a capital that is being successfully exported abroad. WIFI became successively active in the Central and East European  neighbouring countries such as Hungary, Poland and Croatia. In those countries WIFI is offering - partially in a franchise system – management courses and this way is supporting Austrian enterprises that expand into those countries.

With a market share of 20 percent WIFIs (WirtschaftsFörderungsInstitute) are the largest occupational education and further education institutes in Austria. About 290.000 course participants are attending 25.200 courses a year. 11.000 trainers from the economy work for the WIFIs. The WIFIs are also continuously offering  solutions for new requirements: Yearly, 20 percent of the educational products offered are innovations that are put on the market in the current course year.

Certificates of completion / diplomas accredited by the economy

The subject of certificates of completion is becoming more and more important to our clients. Because of our proximity to economy we are able to ensure that one aquires certificates of completion which are accredited and demanded by the economy, explains Dr. Michael Landertshammer - director of WIFI Austria.

Many WIFI diplomas are conferred in cooperation with renowned, international partners – which is, in respect of international acknowledgment of competence, a great benefit.

Individualization of learning

A further essential trend of learning is the strong demand for “precisely accurate” training.

The motto is: “Just in time, just in place, just in solution”. The trend goes to individualization of learning. There is a strongly growing demand for tailor-made training models.

Enterprises: Knowledge, the competitive factor

More and more enterprises recognize that knowledge and know-how are the determining competitive factor. Not the fast ones will outdistance the slow ones, but rather the knowing ones the ignorant ones.

Customized, tailor-made further education measures such as the WIFI in-house training ensure the enterprises that no tax-losses will arise.

eLearning or attendance learning?

According to Landertshammer the benefits of learning the new way are obvious: “eLearning is location-independent, time-independent and flexible. With microLearning the knowledge is being imparted in small bites so that participants don’t become overtaxed and are able to quickly and deeply absorb what they have learned.

The manager of WIFI Austria knows that the best results are yielded with Blended Learning, meaning the combination of Online-Learning and attendance in the course.

There are, as desired by our course participants, regular get-togethers taking place at the WIFIs out of official course hours.

Keen demand in the field of health, languages and engineering as well as for people with certificates of completion of certain branches

Currently, the trend of course demands lies in the fields of health, foreign languages, engineering as well as business administration. Even job-related certificates of completion of all branches (tourism, trade, industry) plus of seminars on personality development are in great demand.
